Most libertarians are not in favor of a strongly funded military. Of course, libertarians are on a sliding scale. I favor a strong domestic-based military that supports things like the border, able and ready to respond to threats from outside the country, but many libertarians don't even support that. They believe we could make due to militias.

Yeah, I agree they aren't in favor of a "strongly funded" military, but I think the reason many of them wouldn't call themselves anarchists is because they believe in a taxpayer-funded military, police, etc. For example, the most recent Libertarian presidential candidate Jo Jorgenson called for abolishing the IRS, but not all taxes (https://archive.li/kqjAB).

Jo Jorgensen was a great disappointment to me, although I still considered her a better alternative than what the two main parties gave us. She started out well and then "went woke" on gender ideology and racial equity. SHE is largely the reason the Mises Caucus was able to take over the Libertarian Party this year -- which I think is an overall healthy development. They are principle-based, but seem to be more practical in their view of politics. I've heard Angela McArdle on Timcast and she's an actually sane and consistent LP member (something I was beginning to think wasn't possible). I'm still not joining the party, but I have hope they'll start electing candidates at least at the local level now and stop embarrassing themselves with candidates who come off as crazy people--or leftists.
