Yesterday a black man walked up to a police car and “opened fire without warning or provocation,” authorities said.

The two L.A. County sheriff’s deputies who were sitting in the car, a 24-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman and mother of a 6-year-old boy, are both in critical condition and “fighting for their lives.”
