WED JUNE, 29
NEW ORLEANS, LA
11:30am: Woke Up, India House Hostel
12:15pm: Walked to Starbucks
1pm - 3pm: Blogged
I spent $2 on my first Facebook Ad. My hope was that $2 would get me 1 new blog subscriber. It did not. I'll make adjustments to the ad and run the test again.
3pm - 5pm: Made Calls
I'm terrible at doing things that I don't think advance my long-term goals. For example, I was assaulted in Columbus, GA in March 2015 and have yet to resolve the medical bill despite collections calling me 25+ times. I finally did the necessary calls and I still don't think I'm out of the water yet.
On one of my calls with United Healthcare I chatted with Hope from Charlotte, NC. She loves New Orleans and the Gumbo. She encouraged me to start handing out business cards for my blog. I asked if I could use paper instead since it's cheaper. She said that's a good idea too and to put those in coffee shops where people are on their computers. Hope is empowering.
5pm - 6pm: Programmed
6pm: Bought Ham & Cheese Sandwich at Sandwich Shop
7pm: Nap, Shower, Socialized, Ate at India House Hostel
I played Rummy 500 with the Danish, but I warned them about that time I won the Rummy 500 world championship against the infamous Betsy Napsalot.
I then taught a bunch of people how to play Mafia, which is one of my all time favorite games.
One of the female workers said she obsessively reads body language. She told us her conclusions about us: one girl got "friendly" because of her unconscious tendency to imitate people's mannerisms, mine was "proud" because of my posture. I asked if I verged into, "arrogance", she said no. I pointed out someone who I thought was arrogant. She said he was, but that he had deep insecurities based upon her assessment of his posture. He walked with his chest out, but his shoulders scrunched back, which is an insecure person's unconscious desire to protect their most vulnerable part of their spine.
One of my friends at the hostel brought me back Gumbo because I guess word got out from Charlotte that I never had it. I ate it proudly.
4am: Sleep, India House Hostel
