I walk a lot, usually 10,000 steps a day.
I wanted a fitness challenge that would do for my upper body as walking does for my lower body.
I see pushups as upper body steps.
And like walking, you can do pushups anywhere!
I did 100 pushups a day.
I broke it down into four 25 rep chunks where I did one in the morning, two in the afternoon, and one in the evening.
As a habit trigger, I usually did a set of pushups after using the toilet, but before washing my hands ;]
Pushups gave me a boost of energy so that when I returned to my desk I could tackle my work with an increased focus not seen since god made the universe in 7 days.
At the start of the challenge I could do 34 pushups at one time, I can now do 40.
Keep in mind I stopped all other forms of working out during the duration of this challenge so I was surprised to see any progress at all.
This goes to show too that I don't need a solid 30 minute chunk to work out. I can grab a few minutes here and there and still see similar results.
Moving forward I will continue this challenge for the immediate benefit of a boost of energy and for the long-term benefits that fitness brings.
Will you give the pushup challenge a try?
